Abstract

To think of magic and its uses from the same lever as that of art and activism is to pose it as a support for intuition rather than as a mystical truth. Esotericism introduces a breach to support symbolic or direct modes of action; activism a lever to provide tools to its actors. Art, intervention and activism associated with esotericism constitute a lever to connect, experiment and transmit methodologies of ritual actions in the public space. If magic is not real, art – where it has no place – becomes mystical and clandestine.
