Abstract

Presented at Urban Palimpsests, International Public Art Conference, CIEBA Public ART Transversal Line, April 24, 2018 FBAUL.

The term Public Art, which has become current in contemporary discourse, still lacks a less descriptive definition, before its intentions are explained. It is not proposed here a closed reflection, but a short exercise around its definition and its intentions. Many exercises can be done for the purposes of both; in this case, it is intended only to attend to its origin and its historical nature. It is believed that this look back will improve your understanding of contemporaneity.
